Alexandra Pearce-Broomhead

Writer

Alexandra is a writer who works from her home in the beautiful county of Cornwall. Her writing attempts to delve into nature and place, exploring the influences that humans have on their surroundings and vice versa.

Alexandra works with multiple publications including The Guardian’s Country Diary, BBC Wildlife and BBC Countryfile. She previously wrote a regular series about British trees for The Countryman and a monthly nature series for Campaign to Protect Rural England, as well as columns on wild mammals for Small Furry Pets and walking in Cornwall for Cornwall Life. She has written for wildlife and nature charities, including promotional material such as guidebooks, and took part in a special blog for The Wildlife Trust’s 30 Days Wild in 2023. She wrote nature-based meditation stories for the ‘Carbon Unwind’ app.

Alexandra’s work has featured in three books; ‘Private Archibald Browne is Remembered’ published in ‘Under Changing Skies’ an anthology of the best pieces from The Guardian’s Country Diary 2018-2024, The Wildlife Trust’s ‘Summer’ anthology with an essay on the mayfly, and ‘Halcyon Daze’ published in Terra Incognita’s 2018 wildlife blogger collection. The latter piece was highlighted on BBC Radio Cornwall in 2020. She is currently working on a book about Cornwall and a special project about pregnancy and apple trees.
