I am a writer based in the beautiful county of Cornwall. My work explores nature and place, delving into the reciprocal influences between people and their environments, often weaving in elements of folklore and history.

My writing regularly appears in publications including The Guardian’s Country Diary, BBC Wildlife and BBC Countryfile. In the past, I’ve written a regular series on British trees for The Countryman, a monthly nature column for Campaign to Protect Rural England, and monthly features on wild mammals for Small Furry Pets, as well as a regular column for Cornwall Life. I’ve also written nature-inspired meditation stories for the Carbon Unwind app and provided copywriting for organisations such as The Maps and Countryside Job Service.

Alongside this, I work closely with wildlife and nature charities, producing everything from guidebooks and leaflets to website copy and interpretation signage. I previously managed social media for Cornwall Wildlife Trust and The Wildlife Trusts during 30 Days Wild, wrote blogs for The Wildlife Trusts, and created guides for their Living Landscapes webpages. I’m currently partnered with the 2 Minute Foundation, producing social media content based on weekly nature news, and I’ve written media pieces for The Woodland Trust that featured in local and national news. I also served on the committee of the award-winning Cornwall Mammal Group, editing their bi-annual newsletter and supporting their social media.

My work has been featured in several books. My piece Private Archibald Browne is Remembered was published in Under Changing Skies, an anthology of the best writing from Country Diary (2018–2024). I also contributed an essay on the mayfly to The Wildlife Trusts’ Summer anthology, and my story Halcyon Daze appeared in Terra Incognita’s wildlife blogger collection, which was later featured on BBC Radio Cornwall.

I previously worked in conservation, where my efforts won a wildlife award in 2020. I developed campaigns, managed communications and produced communicative material.
